He was predeceased by: his parents, C. L. Grubbs, Sr. and Christine Weaver Grubbs; his daughter Julie Grubbs; and his stepsiblings, JoAnn Hamric and Jim Knight.

He is survived by: his stepmother Clara Grubbs; his wife Marlene Grubbs; his children, Sherrie Pinion (Brent) and Gary Grubbs (Stacey); his siblings, Etta Shattler (Don), Clarence Grubbs, Jr. (Candy) and George Grubbs (Rosemary); his grandchildren, Ashley Melton (Derreck), Cassie Pinion, James Grubbs and Jenna Grubbs; and his great grandchildren, Ellis Grubbs and Lucy Grubbs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to mission efforts at Heartland Church – 225 Avenue B, NW in Winter Haven, FL 33881.
