He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie B Phillips and Myrtice Voncel Phillips (Davis); and his siblings, James Walter Phillips and Sharon Ann Culp. He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Ann" Phillips of Auburndale, Florida; his daughters, Angela Denise Brown of Fort Valley and Valari Celeste Woodard (Mark) of Auburndale, Florida; his siblings, Billy Wayne Phillips and Patricia Ann Marshall of Lakeland, Florida; and his grandsons, Christopher, Kyle, Matthew and Aaron.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Don Phillips name to either; Good Shepherd Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
