He was predeceased by: his parents, Girdwood W. Schmidt and Dorothy B. Schmidt (Lee); his former wife Susie Jacobson; and his brothers, Hubert and Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria Schmidt (Bayne); his sons, Christopher and Josh; his son-in-law Nicholas; and his sister Priscilla "Patty" Spangler.
