She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Empson and Ada Empson; her brothers, Percy Empson and Delbert Empson; her husband Irving C. Moss; her granddaughter Ania Moss; and her son-in-law John L. Smith, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Murrel Freeman, Jr. (Octavia), Deacon Carlton Moss, Sr. and Jeanne Moss Smith; her daughter-in-law Linda; her grandchildren, Belinda Levy, Patricia Cram (Greg), Amber Creamer (Joshua), Carlton Jr. (Marla), Tishena Moss, Janae, Jonyelle and John II Smith (Allicia); and her great grandchildren, Brianna Levy, Carlton III, Lillian Moss, Sydney, John III Smith (TJ) and Maria Williams. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other special friends.
