It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Joan Groce of Newark, Delaware, who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Banks and Jess Kennedy (Saffell); her husband John Groce; her son Daniel R. Groce; her stepson Thomas P. Horan; and her siblings, James Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy, William Kennedy and Faye K. Stitt.
She is survived by: her sisters, Jeanne Bucek (Hank), Ruth Wynn, Jessie Nace, Patricia Walters (James), Paula Rosenstengel (Jack) and Betty Robinson; her sons, Thomas R. Groce (Wenda) and John C. Groce; her daughter-in-law Wendy J. Groce; and her stepchildren, Robin Hanjora (Ken) and Robert V. Horan. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home (121 W Park Pl, Newark, DE 19711). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
