He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Shahan and Anna Shahan; his wife Nila; his brother Leon; his son Joseph; and his son-in-law Henry Morton.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Shahan (Vonda) of Seaford and Theresa Shahan of Aiken; his grandchildren, Beth Rushe (Michael) of Dover, Courtney Roman (Brock) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Chad Shahan (Cole Chance) of Washington, DC and Brittany Stoakley (Rick) of Delmar, Delaware; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Elle Rushe, Taryn and Lane Roman.
