She was predeceased by: her parents, James H. Dare Sr. and Elizabeth Simpson; her husband Arthur E. "Gene" Stayton; her daughter Connie Lynn; her brother James H. Dare; and her sister-in-law Charlotte Dare.

She is survived by: her son John Eugene Stayton (Joyce). She is also survived by seven nephews and two nieces.
