He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry Cox and Margaret M. Cox (Johnson); and his son Wallace Cox. He is survived by: his wife Georgie Rae Cox of Georgetown, DE; his children, Harold Cox (Janie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tim Coldiron (Sue) of Elizabethtown, PA, Lynda Haigh (Joseph) of New Castle, DE, Tammy Walls (Michael) of Georgetown, DE and Tammy Monfiletto (Jason) of Newark, DE; and his grandchildren, Matthew Cox, Ryan Cox, Rebecca Cox, Mindy Goretzke, Katy Beth Miller, Caleb Coldiron, Paul Cox, Jason Haigh, Kristen Ferencsik, David Williams, Tori DiGiacoma and Savannah Monfiletto. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cox's name to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Boulevard, Milford, DE.
