It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mardella Gertrude Lawrence of Delmar, Delaware, who passed away on November 23, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tandy Hillary Bolen and Beatrice Ellen Bolen (Carmean); her sons, Samuel Thomas Layfield, Richard Wayne Layfield and Royce William Layfield; her grandsons, Brannon Layfield, Richard Wayne Layfield, II and Michael James Bullion; and her siblings, Howard Richard Bolen, Preston Wayne Bolen, Victor Eugene Bolen, Rosalie Brittingham of Virginia and Gladys Marie Bolen.
She is survived by: her husband Norvel Lee Lawrence; her children, Sylvia Lee Bullion (David) and Levin John Hitchens, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Samuel Layfield, Jr., Crystal Layfield, Sheri Lynn Bullion Enfield, Royce William Layfield, II, Levin John Hitchens, III and Rebecca Hitchens. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
