She was predeceased by: her parents, John Adkins and Lillie Carter Adkins; her husband Paul D. Gordy, Sr.; and her siblings, Lloyd, John, James Adkins, Aline Wilmer and Ruth Guthrie.
She is survived by: her aunt Polly; her children, Patricia G. Barbely (James C.) of Newark, MD and Paul Dennis Gordy, Jr. (Michelle) of Salisbury; her grandchildren, James Robert Barbely, John Adam Barbely and Devin Phillips; her great grandchild Kayla Belle Barbely (Eck); and her siblings, Norman Adkins of Salisbury, Carolyn Adkins of Snow Hill, Esther Smith of Snow Hill and Laura "Sis" Taylor of Snow Hill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
