He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sweeney and Mary Sweeney; his son Edward F. Sweeney, Jr.; and his brother James Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Kerwin Sweeney; his children, Elizabeth Bueso (Nelson), Martin Sweeney (Julie), Luke Sweeney and Margaret Nielsen (Eric); his siblings, Mary Soutier (Harold), Dorothy Paquette (Richard) and Daniel Sweeney (Judy); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Nelson, Jesse, Ana, Aidan, Sean, Ryan, Connor and Molly. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
