Loving father, grandfather & brother " Mr. Antonio Rinaldi, age 91, of Watertown entered into the gates of Heaven, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Carmela (Sforza) Rinaldi. Antonio was born on October 16, 1926 in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, son of the late Giovanni and Filomena (Calabrese) Rinaldi. He worked in farming, construction, performed tile and marble work and then later worked as a materials handler for Sherwood Medical before his retirement. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed taking care of his fig and fruit trees, was a fine maker of cured meats and wine and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Antonio leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children; Giuseppe Rinaldi and his wife, Angela of Watertown, Filomena Rinaldi and her husband, Geoff Hulstrunk of Watertown, three grandchildren; Anthony Rinaldi and his fiancé Stefanie, Gina Rinaldi French and her husband Andrew, Jenna Hulstrunk, three great grandchildren; Robert and Henry French and Leonardo Rinaldi, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends here and in Canada, Australia, Italy and Argentina. He was predeceased by his siblings; Orazio and Domenico Rinaldi, Maria Rinaldi, Felice Pesce and Rosa Rinaldi-Carlone. Antonio's family would like to thank the staff of The Lutheran Home for their exemplary care during his stay. Arrangements: His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to St. Mary Magdalen Church, 145 Buckingham St., Oakville CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
