He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Richard and Mabel H. Richard (Anderson). He is survived by: his spouse Candyce B. Richard (Connell); his children, Robert C. Richard (Christine) of Torrington, Heather L. Shepard of Cheshire and Stephanie J. Peltier (John) of New Hartford; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Richard, Hannah Richard, Aimee Shepard, Christopher Shepard, Lainey Peltier and Addison Peltier; and his brother Ronald E. Richard (Kaye) of Laurens, SC.
