He was predeceased by: his parents, John James and Catherine MacDonald (Chisholm); and his siblings, Elizabeth Tolman and Gregory MacDonald. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Butler MacDonald; his daughters, Elizabeth MacDonald and Nancy MacDonald Hatcher; his son-in-law Charles Hatcher; and his grandson John MacDonald Hatcher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
