He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clendinning Sr. and Jeanette Clendinning (Maclagen); his wife Hazel Clendinning (Conner); and his siblings, Robert Clendinning Jr., Jane McCann and Mary Ann Reilly.

He is survived by: his children, Katherine Clendinning McCreery (Edward) of Shelton, CT, George Clendinning Jr. of Temecula, CA and Robert Clendinning of Stratford, CT; his grandsons, Alexander McCreery (Tara) of Leesburg, VA and Conner McCreery of Killingworth, CT; and his caregivers, Jessica Perez, Dr. Mithal Choksey, Brenda Renzulli, Jackie Bostick of Bridgeport Geriatric, George and Hazel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
