It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia Santos Cangiarella of Stratford, Connecticut, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna Mendez and Miguel Mendez; her husband Alphonse Cangiarella; her siblings, Willie, Philip, Angelo, Sal, Eleanor and Anita; and her daughter-in-law Maria Santos.

She is survived by: her children, JoAnn Morales (Luis) of Ansonia, CT, Annette Henriques of Ansonia, CT, Janette Mingrone (Paul) of Stratford, CT and Michael Santos of Queens, NY; her siblings, Georgie Mendez and Michael Mendez of Nebraska; her grandchildren, Thomas Mikan, Luis Morales, Mattia Mikan, Tasia Mikan Penaranda, Robert Cestero and Michael Santos; and her close friend Diana Morales. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
