He was predeceased by: his parents, Ioannis Iatrou and Eleni Iatrou; his brother-in-law Efstathios Kalogeropoulos; and his brother Konstantinos Iatrou. He is survived by: his wife Sofia Iatrou; his children, Helen Vlahakis (Chris Vlahakis), Ourania Pissanidis (Ioannis Pissanidis) and John Iatrou (Jennifer Butruch); his grandchildren, Peter Vlahakis, Pauline Vlahakis, Niko Pissanidis and Gia Pissanidis; his sisters, Panagiota Christopoulos and Despoina Kalogeropoulos; and his siblings-in-law, Konstantinos Christopoulos and Eleni Iatrou. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

The family requests that any donations in George's memory be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.
