He was predeceased by: his father James R. Chagnon; and his brother Charles Chagnon. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Murphy (Gutman) of Winter Haven, FL; his children, Gregory Chagnon (Jill) of Danvers, MA and Marci Quinn of Manhasset, NY; his grandchildren, Connor, Evan, Bryce, Aidan and Grace; and his sister Sandra Burr of Nashville, TN..
