He is survived by: his parents, Laurens Erasmus and Cecelia Johanna Eales (van Heerden); his sons, Oscar Daniel Eales and Ivan Leon Eales; his siblings, Rita Steenkamp (Jabez) and Owen Eales (Anna); and his parents-in-law, Lydia, Leon van der Merwe, Johan, Elouise van of Merwe, Nicolette and Rikki Spangenberg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
