He was predeceased by: his parents, Saverio and Antonia Rinaldi (Daddona); his siblings, Rimalda "Mildred" Wiltshire and Antonio "Tony" Rinaldi; and his son-in-law Joseph T. Kaytus.

He is survived by: his children, Kathryn M. Kaytus of Southbury, Dorianne M. Lodge (John) of Watertown and Salvatore J. Rinaldi Jr. of Oakville; his grandchildren, Jason Lodge of Watertown and Devon DeCintio (Derek) of Katonah, NY; and his great grandchildren, Lia and James DeCintio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
