He was predeceased by: his wife Linda E. Vaichus (Barnes); and his father Raymond P. Vaichus. He is survived by: his mother Anne Vaichus (Litwinas); his children, Melissa A. Ciolina (Christopher) of Colebrook, Elizabeth M. Wood (David) of Thomaston, Timothy J. Vaichus (Theresa) of Harwinton and Master Sergeant David B. Vaichus; his siblings, Anne Dapont (Scott) of Clearwater, FL, Raymond Vaichus of Oakville, Michelle Weiss (Kerry) of Staunton, VA, Peter Vaichus of Waterbury, Thomas Vaichus (Susan) of Oakville, Charles Vaichus (Patricia) of Wolcott, Paul Vaichus of Waterbury, Edward Vaichus of Oakville, Andrew Vaichus (Magdalena) of Watertown, Francis Vaichus of Oakville, Vincent Vaichus of Woodbury and Mary Vaichus of Oakville; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Ciolina, Katherine Vaichus, Sara Vaichus, Hailey Vaichus, Aiden Wood, Owen Wood and Ella Vaichus. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Due to the current pandemic, the funeral services originally scheduled for Wednesday at Walnut Hill Community Church will be rescheduled and held at a a date and time to be announced.
