He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Caouette and Rita Caouette (Ayotte); his son Michael J. Caouette, Sr.; and his siblings, Florence and Raymond.
He is survived by: his spouse Robin Caouette (Ruselowski); his children, Gene Caouette, Jr., Daniel Caouette (Holly) and Cheryl Overton (Michael); his grandchildren, Michael Caouette Jr., Amber Russo (Brendon), Keith and Jack Caouette; his great grandchild Aiden; and his siblings, Richard, Brian, Joseph, Rita, Patricia and Anne. He is also survived by several cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Gene's name to the American Heart Association.
