He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anthony "Tony" Makowski and Nell (Janik); his wife Linda; and his children, Craig (Alicia) of Naugatuck, Melody, Luke, Reagan, Jude, Brian (Ly) of Farmington, Chris (Megan) of Norwalk, Derek and Amber.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe's name to the American Cancer Society and that you enjoy a cheeseburger in his memory.
