He is survived by: his wife Debra Laffargue Matthews; his sister Judith Gunter (James); his nephew Kurt Welling (Chelsey); his brother-in-law David Laffargue; his children, Scott Matthews and Susan Cogshell; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Madden O'Brien (Steve) and Christopher Madden.
