He is survived by: his wife Cyndi Whaples (DeBella); his son Zac Whaples; his stepsons, Grannis, Ryan Richardson and Pops; his parents, Steven Whaples (Janet) and Marianne Whaples; his stepmother Tracy Geary; his sisters, Ashley Precourt (Whaples) and Cassie Whaples; and his nieces, Kaitlyn and Ella Precourt.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Chester Hose Company, PO Box 214, Chester, CT, 06412, where Mike served as a volunteer.
