He is survived by: his close friend Helen Sandalls; his daughter Elizabeth Beers (Andrew Robichaud); his brother Paul (Heather Beers) of Pine Grove, CA; his nephew Alec Leshy of New London; his former wife Kathryn Oliver of Tiburon, CA; his grandson Xavier Eaton; and also Abe of Watertown, MA.
He painted until the end of his life, saying that he didn't have Parkinson's when he was painting.
