It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diane Fanelli McCue (New London, Connecticut), born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on April 7, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Fanelli and Giovanna Milanese Fanelli (Jean); her husband Steve; her daughters, Jennifer Burke (Christopher) of Niantic, Allyson Foerster (Edmund) of East Lyme and Rebecca McCue (Luis Rodriguez) of Niantic; her brother James; her sister-in-law Martha Fanelli of Avon; her sister Carol; her brother-in-law James Martin of Atlanta, GA.; her grandchildren, Stephen Burke (Abigail Ettelman), Amanda Burke, Madeline Foerster, Connor Foerster, Luca Rodriguez McCue and Elena Rodriguez McCue; and her great grandchild Theodore Burke Ettelman. She was also cherished by her nieces and nephews and their children.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Child and Family Agency of New London.

“I was so sorry to hear of the loss of my high school friend, Diane. Together in our senior year, we wrote the gossip column for the Torch, the school newspaper. Our weekly signature was Di & Ro. We had many classes together and both ended up as Math teachers. She will surely be missed by many. On behalf of the Bulkeley High School Class of 1960, my sincerest sympathies to her family.
