“Dr. Passero was a great mentor, professor and friend to me and many at wmu. I have many wonderful memories with him in the field and in the lab. Not only was he extremely intelligent and thoughtful, he was a gentleman and always concerned about the students and their future. He will be missed. My condolences to the family. William Sauck wrote a sympathy message

“Dear ginny, kelly and i were shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news this morning. Dick was my most respected colleague at wmu, and a great friend. Kelly and i will always cherish the opportunities that we had to stop and visit you both in madison since his retirement. We will never forget the gourmet dinner that you both prepared for our last visit, and all the delightful conversation that always accompanied. We pray for strength for you, kathy, and darby in the coming weeks. The saucks”
