He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Pietro Troiano; and his parents, Benjamin Salvatore Proto, Sr. and Matilda Pasqualina Proto (Iadonisi). He is survived by: his spouse Genny Proto (Troiano); his sons, Paul Proto, Jr. and John Peter Calamita (Cristina); his brother Benjamin S. Proto, Jr. (Robyn); his mother-in-law Filomena Troiano; and his siblings-in-law, Anthony Troiano (Maria), Lisa Stowe (Bill) and Maria Despres (Jamie). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and friends.
