He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cavanna and Mary Cavanna (Negri); his wife Nancy Meegan; his siblings, Dominic, Frank Cavanna, Francis Baribault, Teresa Priskwaldo, Jenny Valuzzi and Amelia Wezowicz; and his daughter Lynn Contois.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Cavanna (Kim) of Lebanon and Nancy Carey (John) of Lebanon; his siblings, John Cavanna (Theresa) of Glastonbury, James Cavanna (Sandra) of Glastonbury and Mary Shiebler of Glastonbury; his grandchildren, Jason, James, Paul, Katie Shea, Jillian, Nicholas, Haley Cavanna and Brian Contois; and his great grandchildren, Jack and Autumn.
