He was predeceased by: his parents, Giovanni Pennella and Gerarda Pennella; and his siblings, Amato, Giuseppe, Pasquale, Antonio, Rosaria, Maria and Grazia.

He is survived by: his significant other Mariarosa DiPaola-Pennella; and his daughters, Gerarda (John) and Maria (Sonny). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
