He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Richard J. Larkin and Alice Murphy Larkin; and his siblings, Richard J. Larkin, John P. Larkin, Michael Larkin, Alice Wedd Larkin and Nancy Dowling Larkin.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Gardiner Larkin; his daughter Kate Larkin Laverge (Albert) of Riverside, CT; his grandchildren, Allie and Charlie; his son James Larkin, Jr. (Cecilia) of Santa Fe, NM; his grandchildren, Carmen, Raphael, Madeline, Penelope and William; and his siblings, David J. Larkin (Robin) of Edina, MN and Mary Jane Larkin of Quincy, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Kids in Crisis.
