He is survived by: his wife Ruth-Anne; his children, Steve (Jolie Chan) and Leora Freedman (Eric); his stepdaughters, Jody Ring, Melissa Ring and Lorraine Ring; and his grandchildren, Nessiya, Mollly-Anne, Ila, Claire and Alec.
He held honors from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for his contributions to the success of the HST.
