He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Putney (McDonald); his parents, Alson Putney and Bernice Putney (Vaughan); and his siblings, Marjorie Nelson of Vermont, Phyllis Allen of Vermont and Norris Putney of Vermont.
He is survived by: his daughters, Georgette Putney Landry (Gigi) of Enfield, Shirley Putney Bloom (Ray) of New York City and Melanie Putney Kirk of Sherman Oaks, CA; his grandsons, Jeffrey Ekenbarger of Stafford, CT and Steven Heravi of Sherman Oaks, CA; and his great grandchildren, Violet and Jackson Heravi.
