He is survived by: his parent Madeline Blow Ely, Sr.; his children, Carl L. Ely, Jr. (Mary Lou) of Ansonia, Jodi Ely-Anastasion (Damon) of Derby, Pamela Harris (John) of Ansonia, Natalie Ely-Panza (Joseph) of West Haven and Vernalee Annicelli of Bridgeport; his former spouse Verna Hyman Kusterer of Derby; his sister Marie "Judy" Boylan of Ansonia; his sister-in-law Catherine Ely of Naugatuck; and his aunt Florence Balisciano of Derby. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
