He is survived by: his parent Dorothy Nelson (Thompson); his son Daniel A. Nelson, Jr.; his husband Joseph Castro of Boston, MA; his daughter Brenda L. Nelson (Kevin Terhune) of Green Valley, AZ; his brother Russell Nelson (Claire) of New Hartford, CT; and his sister-in-law Joyce Nelson of Colebrook, CT.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
