He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Amenta and Ann Amenta (Carrubba); his sister Ann Becal; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Dziob. He is survived by: his wife Susan Amenta (Larson); his children, Lisa Dojan Velarde (Robert) of Summerville, SC, Tom Amenta (Pam) of Burlington and Melissa Dziob of Bristol; his brother Richard Amenta of Georgia; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor Dojan, Kayla, Anthony Amenta, Nathan and Abigail Dziob. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
