With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bill Van Wilgen of Branford, Connecticut, who passed away on November 23, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Bill Van departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Bill Van. Though Bill Van may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Wilgen and Charlotte Van Wilgen. He is survived by: his spouse Laurie Berrien Van Wilgen; his children, Ryan Van Wilgen (Kate) of Guilford and Katharine Mix of Milford; his granddaughters, Nora and Gwen Van Wilgen; and his sister Lynn Mongillo (Mike) of North Branford.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the W.'s. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home (244 N Main St, Branford, CT 06405).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital, 35 Park Street, New Haven, CT 06519, recognizing his numerous caregivers throughout the years or to the Branford Community Foundation, branfordcommunityfoundation.org as giving back to the local community was imperative to Bill.
