Deonna Marie Harrell Obituary

Deonna Marie Harrell, 39, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 27, 2022. Deonna was born in Hartford, CT on May 25, 1983, to Donna Johnson and Michael Harrell. Deonna accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Hartford. She was a graduate of Manchester Public High School and later went on to attend Connecticut Institute of Hair Design and received her license as a hairdresser and cosmetician.

While Deonna possessed a well-rounded talent as a hair stylist, braiding was what she enjoyed the most. Her keen attention to detail, and the various intricate designs she created, were all made to look almost effortless, which resulted in her being admired and sought after by many.

Deonna was independent and lived her life on her own terms. She will fondly be remembered for her jovial spirit, laughter, energy, smile, and for being a light that could brighten any dark room or situation. While Deonna's passing has left her family with heavy hearts, they are comforted by memories of Deonna that celebrates a life that was lived and loved.

Deonna leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Donna Johnson, of Bloomfield, CT; father, Michael Harrell (Joyce), of Rockfall, CT; sisters, Keisha Johnson, of Philadelphia, PA, Tarra Johnson, of East Hartford, CT, and Minaren Bozeman, of Charlotte, NC; brother, Michael Bozeman, of New Britain, CT; nephews, Jonathan Jones and Greyson Johnson, both of East Hartford, CT; niece, Jazmine Bozeman, of Charlotte, NC; great nephews Londyn Jones and Nathan Jones, of East Hartford, CT; aunts, Deborah Harrell and Amy Harrell, both of Charlotte, NC; uncles, Robert Harrell, Sr. (Sherry), of Charlotte, NC and Joel Harrell, Sr., of McDonough, GA; god brother, Ricky Brown, of Hartford, CT, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Deonna was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, James and Doloris Johnson, and paternal grandparents, Moses and Alice Harrell.

Deonna's family will celebrate her life at 12pm, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT. The family will receive friends prior from 11am-12pm.
