With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ellen Nelson of Bethel, Connecticut, who passed away on April 18, 2021 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ellen Nelson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert L. Nelson Sr.; her parents, Harold Dunleavy and Helen Dunleavy; and her brother Douglas Dunleavy. She is survived by: her children, Robert L. Nelson Jr. (Debra), Michael Nelson (Trina), James Nelson, Paul Nelson (Heather), Mark Nelson (Christine), Lori Nelson and Lynn Nelson; and her siblings, June Jones (Ted), Helen Berube (Bob), Harold Dunleavy (MaryAnne) and Jack Dunleavy (Nancy). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at walk-through wake, with mask wearing and social distancing at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470 on Friday, April 23, between the hours of 4 and 7.
