He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irving Gooch and Mary Emily Gooch; his sister Beryl Ann; his former wife Donna Davison; his spouse Gail Kahler; his daughters, Eileen Gooch, Amy Kaverman (Steve) and Mary Leith (Steve); and his nephew James Gooch (Deborah). He was also cherished by four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter.
