He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Louise Cota and George Valero Cota; and his siblings, George W. Cota, Gilbert Cota, Sara Cota and Maria Solorio.

He is survived by: his wife Louise Cota; his children, Manuel Cota Jr., Christina Cota, Gracie Pham (Kevin) and Louie Cota (Olivia); his grandchildren, Christian, Victoria, Vincent Pham, Eric Cota, Lorenzo and Dominic Cota; and his siblings, Anna Limon (Art), Henrietta Cota, Rosalie Garza, Gloria Vasquez, Dora Almaguer, Frank and Harry Cota (Mary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
