He was predeceased by: his parents, James Simpkins and Velma Simpkins (Ferguson); his brother Jim Simpkins; and his son Jacob Lee. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer (Mike), Jamie (Brian) and Jarrett; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Seth, Jakob, Abigail, Juliet, Emily, Bryn and Sadie; his great grandchild Kaiden; and also Bill Ferguson (Jeri).
He suffered more health adversity during the Covid pandemic, and family visited when it was possible. After a quarantine of covid he had low oxygen and suffered a cardiac arrest.
