She was predeceased by: her husband John Zarate; her son David Zarate; her parents, Luis Castellanos and Maria Castellanos; and her siblings, Jesse, Joaquin, Luis and Juventina.
She is survived by: her sons, Johnny Zarate (Patricia), Ralph Zarate (Martha), Mark Zarate (Donna) and Richie Zarate; and her grandchildren, Anna Maria Anderson (Robert), Aubrey Dillon (Murray), David Zarate (Vivian), Justine Casaceli (Eddie), Tara Casaceli (Mike), Jacob Zarate and Vincent Zarate (Nicole).
