Frances A. Szura Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances A. Szura (San Leandro, California), born in Ruffin, South Carolina, who passed away on October 1, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Doris Virginal Fender Beaulieu and Clifford Hill Beaulieu; and her husband Michael Szura, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John David Hamablin (Jenise), Susan Kathleen Delaney (George) and Dyette Tereau; her stepchildren, Michael Szura and Elaine Fraser; her grandchildren, James Hamblin, Erik Hamblin, Amanda Fernandez, Shane Delaney, Logan Delaney, Hannah Petersen, Madeleine Delaney and Murphy Delaney; her great grandchildren, Ceilli Delaney, Patrick Delaney, Nicholas Petersen, Flynn Delaney-Christensen and Vincent Delaney; her stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Janet Szura Schiewe, Michael R. Fraser and Shannon Braley; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Bradley Szura, Clissa Schiewe, Stella Szura, Sasha Szura, Robert Duncan and Frederick Duncan.
Frances was a former Executive Secretary for Transocean Air Liens and author of "Folded Wings--A History of Transocean Air Lines,' "Rabbit Crossroads" -a Memoir. and many newspaper and magazine articles plus six self-published cookbooks and 3 years as a freelance staff member at "Brightside" of the Hayward Daily Review newspaper. Frances was a member and curator of the Transocean Lines' exhibit at the Oakland Aviation Museum and trustee emeritus of the museum, member of the TALOA Alumni Assoc.. California Writers Club, Berkeley Branch, Castlemont High School Girls' Block "C" Society, Castlemont High School Alumni Assoc., Hayward Area Historical Society and the Alameda County Historical Society.
