She was predeceased by: her father John D. Shaw. She is survived by: her husband Curtis L. Coonrod; and her sons, Bruce (Lisa) of Yucaipa and Robert (Ossie) of Mentone. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as three brothers and one sister.
Doris was very proud of the "Clothes Closet" charity that she started in 2007 at the Del Rosa United Methodist Church in Del Rosa, California, where she would tirelessly seek donations of clothing, wash and mend them, fold or hang them carefully, and then offer them to the local community and families at no charge. By 2018, the charity was serving hundreds of local families and children.
