It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Lea Uhre of Poway, California, born in West Point, New York, who passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Dorothy Angelica Schulyer Jarman; her husband Curtis Uhre; her daughters, Katharine Lea Gregorio (Jon) and Emily Paige Uhre (Tom Robertson); her brother David Jablonsky of Carlisle, PA; her stepbrother Jim Tully of Nashiville, TN.; her grandchildren, Sanderford William Gregorio, Sophie Lea Gregorio, Mia Campbell Robertson and Zoey Schuyler Robertson; and her sisters, Jean Rickard and Alice Jablonsky. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In 2011, Catholic University awarded her the School of Library and Information Science's Raymond Von Dran Memorial Award for her outstanding contributions to the library profession and for her innovation, collaboration, and leadership at the White House Library.
