It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Javier Cerda (Oxnard, California), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Javier leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Javier may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Cerda and Margarita Cerda; his son Robert; and his daughter-in-law Tina. He is survived by: his wife Anita Sosa; his children, Bertha Saldana (Ed), Connie Ontiveros, Javier Cerda (Florence), Woody Cerda (Jenny) and Alex Cerda; and his sister Camerina Gomez. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
