She was loved and cherished by many people including: her pet Kitty; her parents, Lester Knutte and Theresa Knutte; her former husband Alton Lerch; her children, Ronald Lerch of Novato, Theresa Lerch of Victor, Idaho. and Nicholas Lerch; and her husband Frank Berthinier.
In lieu of flowers, Esther would have wanted charitable donations made to Guide Dogs for the Blind Inc, a noble cause based in San Rafael she supported throughout her life.
