It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John V. Bakas of Newport Beach, California, who passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bakas and Ursula Bakas. He is survived by: his siblings, Aleksandra Bakas, Paul Bakas, Robert Bakas, Marija Valdez and David Bakas; his siblings-in-law, JoAnn, Erin, Julie and Barry; his nieces and nephews, Alexis, Aimee, Kyle, Kelsey, Kallen, Kendall and Courtney; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Knox, Kash, Kinley, Ieva, Zelie, Evander and Darrow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a memorial contribution in John's name to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1441 W. Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, CA 92661.
